Alphabet
The 24 letters of Modern Greek.
Capital, small, and the modern name as we say it in Greece today. Each card gives pronunciation, Latin transliteration, and how the letter sounds in words. The classical name (alpha, beta, mu, nu, and so on) is at the bottom for reference. These are the printed shapes. A few small letters look different in handwriting. Note
Transliteration
Kosdes uses the Greek alphabet to show the basic letter equivalents (for example, π = p). In vocabulary lists, transliteration is sometimes adjusted to reflect Modern Greek pronunciation when letters combine (see Greek letter combinations below).
Note
Letter names
Modern names are what you hear when Greeks recite the alphabet today—βήτα (víta), μι (mi), νι (ni). The classical name at the bottom of each card is the international list used in English, science, and classics: alpha, beta, mu, nu. When both names match, it still shows the classical form for easy reference.
